How to Use

To guarantee the safe use of Donepezil, let your doctor know if you have a history or suffer from any of these conditions:

• Heart rhythm disorder
• Trouble swallowing
• Kidney or liver disease
• Stomach ulcers
• Epilepsy or any seizure disorder
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma or any breathing disorder

Use Donepezil exactly as prescribed. Don’t take larger or smaller doses than prescribed or for duration longer or shorter than recommended. Donepezil can be taken with or without food. Don’t chew, crush or break the regular tablet. Swallow it whole with a full glass of water.

For the orally disintegrating tablet, don’t remove the tablet from the blister pack until it is time for taking it. Open the package and cut or peel the backing. Don’t push the tablet through the backing as this may damage it. Using dry hands place the tablet into your mouth and allow it to dissolve. Swallow the content as the tablet dissolves. Don’t chew the tablet or swallow it whole. Once the tablet has dissolved completely, drink a full glass of water.

FDA Pregnancy Classification

It is unknown if donepezil can cause harm to an unborn baby. Even so, you need to let your doctor know if you are pregnant or if you plan on becoming pregnant during treatment. It is also unknown if the drug can pass into breast milk or if it can cause harm to a breastfeeding baby.

Safety

You should take Donepezil as prescribed and for the full length of time. Let your doctor know of your medical conditions, the medicines you are on and all your allergies. Don’t use this drug if you are allergic to donepezil.
