How to Use

To ensure the safe use of Dapoxetine, let the doctor know if any of these conditions apply to you:

• Sensitive or allergic to the ingredients contained in the drug
• Are over the age of 65 years
• Use cytochrome inhibitors like itraconazole, nelfinavir or saquinavir
• Take medicines that cause vasodilation like nitrates or alpha adrenergic antagonists
• History of fainting
• Epilepsy
• Kidney problems
• Liver problems
• Bipolar disorder
• Circulation and heart problems
• Blood clotting or bleeding problems
• Have erectile dysfunction

Consult your doctor before you start using Dapoxetine. The starting dose is usually 30mg of Dapoxetine. This should be taken 1 to 3 hours before sexual activity. The dose may gradually be increased over time in order to reduce the chances of adverse side-effects.

The medicine should not be taken more than once in a day. It should only be taken once a day and only when needed. Do not miss scheduled appointments with the prescriber which is typically after 6 doses. The doctor will review your response to the drug in order to determine if the treatment is right for you or not.

If you feel the medicine is not working for you or if it is making you unwell, contact your doctor. Do not take a larger or smaller dose than recommended. Follow the directions on the pharmacy label keenly.

FDA Pregnancy Classification

Dapoxetine is not indicated for use in women. However, the drug is no expected to cause any harm to an unborn or breastfeeding baby.

Storage

Store at room temperature and away from bright light, heat and moisture.

• Diarrhea
• Concentration problems
• Blurred vision
• Dry mouth
• Feeling anxious
• Feeling irritable
• Feeling agitated
• Strange dreams
• Yawning
• Tremors
• Indigestion
• Stomach discomfort or pain
• Sleepiness
• Increased sweating

Safety

Treatment should not be started with the 60mg dose. This increases the risk of adverse side effects which are higher with the 60mg dose. Follow the instructions of your doctor keenly. An appraisal of individual benefit/ risk ratio needs to be carried out within 4 weeks of using the treatment. This is done to determine whether continuing the treatment is appropriate. The benefit/risk ratio should later be evaluated after 6 months.

Based on the characteristics of the drug, Dapoxetine should not be used with phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors like sildenafil. Combining the two may lead to undesirable interactions. 

Dapoxetine should not be used by persons below the age of 18 or above the age of 65.
